Mission
BOLD seeks to transform its business undergraduates into ethical leaders who promote an inclusive environment while safeguarding business practices that are economically, socially, and invironmentally sustainable.
Vision
We believe that every student has the potential to become a leader who crafts conscious decisions based on personal and professinoal integrity, knowledge, and experience. Across all boundaries we challenge these leaders to conceive and collaborate, to serve and inspire, to embrace and engage all differences, to pave the path of impossibility with optimism and achievement.
The C. Charles Jackson Foundation
Leadership Certificate Program
The C. Charles Jackson Foundation has awarded BOLD $12,000 to develop and implement a pilot for a new Leadership Certificate Program. This one-year program incorporates a second-year for a select group of dedicated leaders who have engaged in an intensive “Train the Trainer” program and are ready to pass on their knowledge.
Using Jim Kouzes and Barry Posner’s Student Leadership Challenge® as the foundation of the pilot, the program will be open to Dyson Sophomores and Junior Transfers as well as a small group of Cornell students from other disciplines.
Students will engage in an experiential journey of self-discovery, teamwork, and leadership, framed by the lessons learned from the extraordinary leadership of Sir Ernest Shackleton during his doomed, but victorious 1914 Imperial Trans-Antarctic Expedition—one of the greatest survival stories of all time.
The Dyson School, Cornell Outdoor Education, and the BOLD program are excited to begin this new chapter in training the next generation of leaders! We are grateful to Dr. Bruce H. Jackson, Chief Executive Officer of the C. Charles Jackson Foundation for this generous gift toward developing our students.
Praise for BOLD
“BOLD is a unique program that offers students a head start in the business world, helping them to develop leadership skills and a real appreciation for diversity in the workplace. From a recruiter’s perspective, it does not get any more relevant than that!”
